There is parking at the west end of the lot (that's outside the gate) for trucks/trailers. Fiddler's Cove Marina & RV Park, 3205 California 75, San Diego. | September 9, Saturday | Plaque ceremony for Marc Lemieux. The plaque ceremony is 10 AM at the Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial, Soledad Park Rd (officially: 6905 La Jolla Scenic Drive (at Via Capri), La Jolla, CA 92037). The MCs run the ceremony and give a history of the Memorial and then will talk about Marc. They will also give anyone the opportunity to say something about him. Couldn't be a better place for a tribute to him. There will be a short informal ride, open to all bikes, leaving from The WATERFRONT at 9AM. You are also invited to Donna Schmidt's open house Sat. | November 5, Sunday | SoCal Norton Club HANSEN DAM RIDE (non-club event) The Norton Club says "We have a 75+ mile mapped out, feel free to come by as early as 8AM for coffee and donuts, after the ride we'll have the grill fired up and will be serving lunch. Meet at Hansen Dam, enter on Dronfield (off Osborne) and turn right and left to the lower lot. Ride departs at 10AM sharp." |
| November 11, Saturday | Los Angeles AMCA Vintage Ride, Fallbrook to Laguna (non-club event) The Los Angeles AMCA has extended an invitation for a vintage bike ride that begins in Fallbrook, and goes via Julian to the Laguna area and back. They might also do Engineer road. From Rusty Mitchell, Los Angeles Chapter: Meet at the Shell station in the center of Fallbrook at Main and Ammunition. (This Shell station takes credit cards and has a bathroom) Breakfast at McDonalds across the street for all you cheap bastards like me. Meet at 9 AM, Kickstands Up @ 9:30. Ride will be from Fallbrook to Julian via Hwy 76 then 79 then 78. We will gas at the bottom of the hill in Santa Ysabel before Julian. EDIT from Rusty: The route changed, still leaving Fallbrook and going to Santa Ysabel for gas. There's gonna be some old VLS on the ride too. Lunch will be at Carl's in Borrego. S22, S2 , and Montezuma grade will be on the route. |
