SoCal Norton calendar Meet at the Cactus Patch Restaurant located at 197 East High St. in Moorpark. We ride to Ojai and Guy Webster’s collection of motorcycles and then on to lunch at Boccali’s located at 3277 Ojai Santa Paula Rd in Ojai. This is nice run through the hills and along the Santa Clara River wash and Santa Paula Creek. Ride departs at 10:00AM.

April 23, Saturday Trailblazers 72nd Annual Banquet (non-club event)
The three-hour “Meet & Greet” reception and bike show is one of the highlights of our annual gathering with the chance to reunite with many old motorcycling friends, followed by the dinner and awards banquet. This year Keith Mashburn will receive the club’s top honors, the Dick Hammer Award. There will be 6 new Trailblazers Hall of Fame inductees: 7-time American Speedway champion Mike Bast, Ascot 8-Mile National winner Dan Haaby, 3-time world roadracing champion Wayne Rainey and famed Dirt Track race tuner and suspension expert Steve Storz, plus we will also recognize posthumously two notables who have previously passed on: Bruce Ogilvie and Gil Vaillancourt.

A tour of Mt Helix and the lakes of Lakeside. This is a great ride for older or smaller displacement bikes, no freeway! Truck it to the park and ride, we'll help you unload! Non-Brit vintage bikes welcome, last year we had an old HD Servicar 3-wheeler join us.
Meet at 9:30am, take off at 10:00 am. Meet at the Fuerte & Bancroft Park & Ride La Mesa, same as last year. Directions - going east on 8 take the Fuerte Severin off ramp. Going west take the Severin offramp, cross over the fwy to Park & Ride on right. At the end of the ride we'll have a great lunch on the spacious deck at Donna Mulrean's house (donation toward food greatly appreciated). If you need to buy any factory parts books or shop manuals for your British bike, this is the time to buy them directly from the source. Donna is a major supplier of these to various retailers and always has a huge selection on hand.

The Encinitas Classic Car Nights is the third Thursday of each summer month, May - September from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

This Saturday is Armed Forces Day so we'll roll from The Waterfront at 09:00 swing past The Midway, follow Harbor Drive out to Point Loma for a photo op on the road to the tide pools. Then through O.B. past Mission Bay and up to Mount Soledad. From there ride down the 52 to 805, past the new Miramar Cemetery and out to the Marine Air Museum. We can then go over to Phil's BBQ in Santee for some lunch and cold beverages, possibly some NASCAR.

June 25-26, Sat-Sun 7th BORN-FREE Vintage Chopper and Classic Motorcycle Show AND AMCA swap meet (non-club event)
"Born-Free 7 will bring together tens of thousands of spectators and participants and over 150 vendors and sponsors, live music, AND an Antique Motorcycle Club of America regional swapmeet. The Born-Free Show is built on the impromptu action of people building and riding their vintage Harleys, Hondas, Indians, Triumphs into the show which then becomes 'the show'. This is a place where the classics take the spotlight."
Last year there was a swap meet hosted by the LA chapter of AMCA. I assume it will happen again, but haven't confirmed this.

July 17, Sunday 28th annual T-SHIRT RIDE -CLASSIC RIDE.
We're starting at a new place, the Coldwell Banker Bldg, 2651 Via De La Valle in Del Mar, because there's space to leave your trailers there. Be there gassed up, filled up, peed out, and ready to take off at 9 AM. With cash in hand for high-fashion T-shirts. We will take mostly back roads out to east county & back in time for lunch at Tower 13, 2633 S Coast Hwy 101 Encinitas, about noon or so.

This is a McFarlane Promotions event. They told me that even though it's billed as a Car Show, motorcycles are welcome to enter.
August 21, Sunday Sunday CLASSIC RIDE & BBQ in lieu of general meeting
Instead of the usual Monday potluck night (and instead of the August general meeting) we'll do a Classic Ride Sunday starting at 10AM from Fiddler's Cove Marina on Coronado Island, and ending in a BBQ/potluck there. The ride should take approx. 2.5 hours. There is parking at the west end of the lot for trucks/trailers. Fiddler's Cove Marina & RV Park, 3205 California 75, San Diego. Steaks and baked beans will be provided for members and one guest/S.O. Additional guests at $12/person. Please RSVP Gordon at email4gordon@cox.net. We need to know by 17 August. It is also a potluck, so bring something to share. We will have our own gate code - check with Gordon, a board member, or someone else who knows.

The Encinitas Classic Car Nights is the third Thursday of each summer month, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
September 17, Saturday Wavecrest Woodie Meet, Encinitas (non-club event)
Wavecrest is the largest of all woodie meets. It is always held on the third Saturday of September each year at Moonlight State Beach in Encinitas. By 8:00 am there are around 300 woodies of every size, shape, description on display. Food & live Hawaiian and surf music all day.

On Saturday, 10 September, 2016 100 riders will depart Atlantic City, New Jersey and travel 3400 miles across America to end up in San Diego, California on Monday, 26 September. Sixteen days on the road with one day off. Most of the route will be on two-lane back roads with less than 100 miles on interstate highways. An ambitious ride to say the least, averaging around 300 miles per day."

If your current bike does not fit one of these styles but you still want to be involved, borrowing or hiring a suitable bike is perfectly acceptable!" There are prizes for the highest fundraisers. The fine print, hidden deep in the FAQ: "DGR is simply about the niches within the motorcycle world. It is not an event for our friends on cruisers, sports bikes, motards, modern plastic scooters, dirt bikes, adventure bikes, tourers and Can-Ams....One of our goals is to keep these events small and manageable by our volunteer hosts. In order to do this we restrict the size of the event by restricting the style of bikes. This event is no different from a classic all-English motorcycle meet or a HOG ride whereby it is expected that you meet their bike criteria to participate. This event is exclusive to the classic styles within our guide."

September 25, Sunday English Motors at Fairbrook Farm, Fallbrook, CA (non-club event)
English Motors at Fairbrook is a unique gathering of fine English motor cars and motor bikes, nestled in the Fallbrook hills at Fairbrook Farms. This beautiful twenty-five acre horse ranch has an expansive show field with room for 250 cars and motorcycles, and up to 20 food and automotive-related booths. All net proceeds will be donated to Meals-On-Wheels Greater San Diego.
Open to the public 10:00AM-3:00PM. No entry fee for spectators, and ** ALL parking is FREE.** Food and Drink will be available for purchase, or you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch.

We will be riding from the parking lot next to McDonalds on Via De La Valle, through Rancho Santa Fe, up and around and back into Vista for lunch at The Belching Beaver at 1:00 on the back patio for some lunch and cold drinks. Kickstands up at 10:00, we'll try to make some interesting stops and photo ops along the way.
